At Tyson, our top priority is the health and safety of our team members, their families and our communities. Since the spring of 2020, we have invested hundreds of millions of dollars in a series of measures designed to help fight the spread of COVID-19.

  • In August 2021, we required team members at U.S. facilities to be fully vaccinated by November 1, 2021. To achieve a fully vaccinated workforce we provided expert resources and education, held over 200 on-site vaccination clinics, compensated team members for getting vaccinated, and provided “thank you” bonuses to team members who got vaccinated.
  • We are now educating and encouraging team members to stay up to date on their COVID-19 vaccinations, which includes booster shots based on the timing recommended by the CDC.  We have hosted “town hall” discussions with medical experts and offer on-site booster clinics at facilities across the enterprise. 
  • As part of our wellness journey, in 2020 we hired over 200 additional nurses and administrative support staff to support our on-site efforts to screen, test and quickly isolate team members with COVID-19 symptoms and manage their cases. In 2021, we hired our first CHIEF MEDICAL OFFICER. In addition, we opened pilot health centers at 7 locations for team members and their families.
