Maria Claudia Borras

During her career in the energy industry, Maria Claudia has led complex industrial manufacturing and services businesses, in addition to successfully implementing organizational transformations, process improvements and long-term growth strategies.

She is currently executive vice president of Oilfield Services at Baker Hughes, an international energy technology company. She leads the company’s largest business segment, with more than 26,000 employees and operations in more than 120 countries. She has served in other executive and management roles at Baker Hughes, and was also previously chief commercial officer for GE Oil and Gas.

Maria Claudia began her career in the oil and gas industry as a production engineer for Esso in Bogotá, Colombia, where she gained experience in operations, marketing, and management before joining Baker Hughes in 1993.

She earned a degree in petroleum engineering from the Universidad de América, Bogotá.
