Hunger Program Grants in Tyson Foods Communities

In addition to our core national Hunger Relief initiatives of KNOW Hunger and our food bank donations, it’s important to us to support community programs that provide access to food for those in need or work to provide solutions to alleviate hunger. Our grants in this category focus on the following target areas:

  • Community feeding programs that benefit children, seniors and others at risk of hunger or with limited access to food (backpack, senior feeding programs, etc.)

Examples of programs we’ve supported include grants for the Nutritious Meals program at the Northwest Arkansas Children’s Shelter, which provides 3 meals and snacks every day to abused and neglected children; support for Samaritan Community Center’s Snackpack program which provides weekend and after school snacks and meals to children in Northwest Arkansas at risk of hunger during times without access to school breakfast and lunch; and funds for the Northeast Iowa Food Bank in Waterloo to help build a new facility, allowing them to reach more residents in need of food.

  • All major hunger relief product donations are distributed through a partnership with Feeding America member food banks and their agencies, and requests for direct product donations to other food pantries and soup kitchens are not accepted. We encourage feeding programs needing assistance to visit for more information regarding being a member or receiving food from their network.
