Tyson Fresh Meats Announces Council Bluffs Expansion

Tyson Fresh Meats, Inc., a wholly owned subsidiary of Tyson Foods, Inc. (NYSE: TSN), is investing $27 million to expand the production capacity of its case-ready beef and pork plant in Council Bluffs, Iowa.

The project will include a 55,000 sq. foot addition for new production lines and warehouse space and increase the plant’s capacity to produce fresh ground beef, beef and pork cuts, and meal kits that are ready for distribution to retail grocers. The expansion is underway and scheduled to be completed in July 2017. It is expected to add 350 jobs, bringing total employment at the plant to more than 1,400.

Champions for Kids Launches “Be a Hunger Hero” Campaign

Champions for Kids has joined forces with Tyson Foods to fight childhood hunger with the 4th annual “Be a Hunger Hero” campaign. Starting July 26, Sam’s Club shoppers can purchase Tyson® Nuggets, Tyson® Popcorn Chicken, Tyson® Crispy Strips, State Fair® Corn Dogs, Jimmy Dean® Hash Browns, Jimmy Dean® Pancake & Sausage on a stick (blueberry), Jimmy Dean® Maple Sausage Snack Size Sandwiches and help feed* a child in need.


Tyson Foods Donates 64,400 Pounds of Protein to Aid West Virginia Flood Recovery Efforts

Tyson Foods, Inc. donated 64,400 pounds of protein this month to food banks in West Virginia in response to the recent historic flooding in that state.


The Facing Hunger Food Bank in Huntington, West Virginia, and the Mountaineer Food Bank in Gassaway, West Virginia, both received a donation of chicken that will provide thousands of meals to residents in need. 

Tyson Foods Gives $266,000 To Logan County Career Center

Tyson Foods, Inc. (NYSE:TSN) announced today a $266,000 grant to the Logan County Career Center in Paris, Arkansas, to help fund construction of the center’s new facility on the Paris High School campus and add new courses of study.  


The gift marks more than $2.9 million in education and workforce development grants made in Arkansas since 2015, a significant milestone in the company’s ongoing efforts to invest in education in its home state.

12 Year-Old Food Pantry Founder Recognized As A National "Hero"

Tyson Foods and the City of Goldsboro today publically recognized 12-year-old resident, Mackenzie “Kenzie” Hinson for her extraordinary efforts fighting hunger in the community. Hinson, founder and operator of Goldsboro’s Make a Difference Food Pantry, is the second individual honored as a Tyson Foods Meals that Matter® Hero – part of the company’s pledge to invest $50 million in cash and in-kind donations by 2020 to fight hunger, with a special focus on local initiatives. 

Tyson Foods to Sponsor Tuesday Nights at Botanical Garden of the Ozarks

Tyson Foods, Inc. announced today a $50,000 donation to Botanical Garden of the Ozarks to help sponsor “Tyson Foods Tuesday Nights.” From June 7 through Aug. 30, the garden will extend its hours until 8 p.m. every Tuesday and offer a variety of programming, including music, cooking demonstrations, educational experiences and gardening tips.

Tyson Foods Donates $100,000 to Southwest Kansas YMCA

The Garden City Family YMCA hosted an event today to announce a $100,000 donation from Tyson Foods, Inc. The donation will go toward the construction of a 27,730-square-foot inflatable sports dome with indoor athletic facilities, including basketball courts, a gymnastics area and walking track.

Meals on Wheels Texoma received a $100,000 grant from Tyson Foods, Inc. to go toward the construction of the agency’s central kitchen. Tyson Foods also donated a truckload of chicken to help fight hunger in North Texas.
