Chaplaincy effort grows at Tyson over 15 years

DAKOTA DUNES | Not every worker can share a personal problem with a supervisor.

Not every employee has a support network at home.

For these reasons -- and more -- Tyson Foods some 15 years ago established a chaplaincy program, one that now features 96 chaplains moving among the company's 113,000 employees.


Tyson Foods donates 50,102 meals through Meals That Matter™ program in Virginia

As part of Tyson Foods’ Meals that Matter® disaster relief program, our 53-foot mobile kitchen deployed Saturday, Feb. 27, to Appomattox, Virginia, where a feeding center was set up to provide meals to those impacted by a devastating tornado. Over the course of a week, 10,990 hot meals were served and an additional 39,112 servings were donated to local agencies. In all, Tyson Foods provided more than 50,000 meals to the Appomattox area.


Beyond Tyson 2.0 on Food Business News

The question that has lingered since Tyson Foods acquired Hillshire Brands is what will the company do with the broad portfolio of brands once the merger and integration were complete? On Feb. 16 at the Consumer Analyst Group of New York conference taking place in Boca Raton, company executives opened up about future plans.

The company has a robust innovation pipeline, said Sally Grimes, chief growth officer and president of the company’s International business unit.

Meals That Matter in Austin: Lola Nubian Queen donation event

Tyson Foods presented Stephens-Bell with a customized food delivery bus with newly installed features that will help the local restaurant owner take her spirit of feeding the hungry to more communities in the Austin area.

Tyson Foods also announced today that it will continue to support Stephens-Bell’s efforts with twice-a-week donations of protein to her operation. A large product donation was made in Stephens-Bell’s honor from Tyson Foods to the Capital Area Food Bank of Texas to benefit members of the community.

At the world headquarters of Tyson Foods Inc. in Springdale, Ark., there's a 100,000-square-foot state-of-the-art facility known as the Tyson Discovery Center that includes 19 kitchens, a pilot plant, and a packaging innovation lab. The facility is home to about 175 R&D team members—from chefs to food safety experts—who cook up culinary innovations, as Sally Grimes, Tyson’s chief global growth officer and president, international, explains.


Tyson Foods Hosts WWAST

SPRINGDALE -- Matthew Kinsey lost his right leg while serving his second tour of duty in the Army in June 2010. The injury in the field, the taxing recovery process and the black prosthetic leg he sports now didn't stop him from launching a towering home run over the left-center field wall in his first at-bat for the traveling Wounded Warrior Amputee Softball Team on Friday night at the Tyson Complex.
