SPRINGDALE, Ark. — May 24, 2016 — Tyson Foods, Inc. (NYSE:TSN) announced today a $50,000 donation to Botanical Garden of the Ozarks to help sponsor “Tyson Foods Tuesday Nights.” From June 7, 2016, through August 30, 2016, the garden will extend its hours until 8:00 p.m. every Tuesday and offer a variety of programming, including music, cooking demonstrations, educational experiences and gardening tips.

We are excited to be open to the public on beautiful, summer Tuesday nights for our guests at no cost*,” said Charlotte Taylor, executive director of the Botanical Garden of the Ozarks. “Through Tyson Foods' generous support, we are hoping that a wide range of people will have a chance to visit the garden and enjoy the great activities that are planned.”

Since 2005, Tyson Foods has supported the garden through various capital projects, event sponsorships and educational programs. Part of this $50,000 grant will fund educational programming for elementary school-age children.

“We realize it may be difficult for some to enjoy the gardens during regular business hours,” said Pat Bourke, program manager, corporate social responsibility for Tyson Foods. “That’s why we’re so happy to sponsor "Tyson Foods Tuesday Nights" and make it more convenient for our community to experience all the Botanical Garden of the Ozarks has to offer.”

The Botanical Garden of the Ozarks opened to the public in 2007 and sits on 42 acres on the east side of Lake Fayetteville. More than 13,000 area school children visit the garden annually for educational programs related to food, animals, sustainability and the environment.
