Food Logistics, a publication exclusively dedicated to covering the global food supply chain, has named Tyson Foods, Inc. as a Top Green Provider for 2016.

Food Logistics’ annual Top Green Providers list recognizes companies whose products, services, or exemplary leadership is enhancing sustainability within the food and beverage industry. The list offers logistics professionals a guide to the suppliers, manufacturers, and software and technology companies that have found new ways to promote sustainability.

12 Year-Old Food Pantry Founder Recognized As A National "Hero"

Tyson Foods and the City of Goldsboro today publically recognized 12-year-old resident, Mackenzie “Kenzie” Hinson for her extraordinary efforts fighting hunger in the community. Hinson, founder and operator of Goldsboro’s Make a Difference Food Pantry, is the second individual honored as a Tyson Foods Meals that Matter® Hero – part of the company’s pledge to invest $50 million in cash and in-kind donations by 2020 to fight hunger, with a special focus on local initiatives.

Tom Hayes Named President of Tyson Foods; Donnie Smith to Continue as CEO

Tyson Foods, Inc. (NYSE: TSN) today announced that its board of directors has promoted Tom Hayes to the position of president. Formerly chief commercial officer of Tyson Foods, Hayes will work directly with Donnie Smith, who will continue as the company’s chief executive officer.  

 

Prior to his role as chief commercial officer, Hayes was president of food service at Tyson Foods. Previously, Hayes served as chief supply chain officer for The Hillshire Brands Company, responsible for operations including procurement, manufacturing, food safety and quality, engineering, and logistics. In his new role, Hayes will lead Tyson Foods’ transition reflecting the company’s strategic focus on its hybrid model of branded prepared foods and fresh meats. Hayes will be based in Springdale, Ark.

Tyson Foods Moves Up in Newsweek's 2016 Green Rankings

– Tyson Foods, Inc. (NYSE: TSN) has moved up more than 50 spots in the 2016 Newsweek Green Rankings, reflecting the company’s environmental and transparency improvement efforts. The company ranked 328th out of 500 companies in the 2016 rankings, compared to 381st last year.

 

Since 2009, the Newsweek Green Rankings have been considered one of the leading corporate environmental rankings, assessing the 500 largest publicly-traded companies in the United States and the 500 largest publicly-traded companies globally on overall environmental performance.

Tyson Foods Donates $100,000 and a Truckload of Protein to East Texas Food Bank

Tyson Foods, Inc. donated $100,000 and a truckload of chicken today to East Texas Food Bank to help alleviate hunger in east Texas.

 

The donation will help increase the food bank’s distribution capacity as part of its “More Space, More Meals” capital expansion project. Plans include the construction of a new volunteer center, a nutrition education center, as well as warehouse expansion and renovation.

 

The donated product will be distributed to the food-insecure population in the food bank’s 26-county service area. With its network of 200 nonprofit agencies, the food bank distributed approximately 18.2 million meals last year.

Tyson Foods to Sponsor Tuesday Nights at Botanical Garden of the Ozarks

Tyson Foods, Inc. announced today a $50,000 donation to Botanical Garden of the Ozarks to help sponsor “Tyson Foods Tuesday Nights.” From June 7 through Aug. 30, the garden will extend its hours until 8 p.m. every Tuesday and offer a variety of programming, including music, cooking demonstrations, educational experiences and gardening tips.

Response to Oxfam America

We value our Team Members and treat them with respect. If they need a restroom break, we have extra people who can fill in for them. We do not tolerate the refusal of requests to use the restroom.

We’re concerned about these anonymous claims and while we currently have no evidence they’re true, are checking to make sure our policies on restroom breaks are being followed and our Team Members’ needs are being met.

Tyson Foods Donates $100,000 to Southwest Kansas YMCA

The Garden City Family YMCA hosted an event today to announce a $100,000 donation from Tyson Foods, Inc. The donation will go toward the construction of a 27,730-square-foot inflatable sports dome with indoor athletic facilities, including basketball courts, a gymnastics area and walking track.

Tyson Foods and No Kid Hungry Partner for Innovative Hunger Solutions

Tyson Foods, Inc. announced today that it will serve as a National Innovation Partner of No Kid Hungry, a national campaign of the nonprofit organization Share Our Strength. The two-year partnership will focus on developing and improving the national afterschool meals program, with an emphasis on researching new models and increasing the program’s participation.

A longtime partner of Share Our Strength, Tyson Foods’ new commitment will increase its work with the No Kid Hungry campaign’s Innovation Team, a group focused on ending child hunger in America by providing innovative solutions for vulnerable children to access healthy food.
