Tyson Foods Donates $100,000 and a Truckload of Protein to East Texas Food Bank

Tyson Foods, Inc. donated $100,000 and a truckload of chicken today to East Texas Food Bank to help alleviate hunger in east Texas.

 

The donation will help increase the food bank’s distribution capacity as part of its “More Space, More Meals” capital expansion project. Plans include the construction of a new volunteer center, a nutrition education center, as well as warehouse expansion and renovation.

 

The donated product will be distributed to the food-insecure population in the food bank’s 26-county service area. With its network of 200 nonprofit agencies, the food bank distributed approximately 18.2 million meals last year.

Tyson Foods to Sponsor Tuesday Nights at Botanical Garden of the Ozarks

Tyson Foods, Inc. announced today a $50,000 donation to Botanical Garden of the Ozarks to help sponsor “Tyson Foods Tuesday Nights.” From June 7 through Aug. 30, the garden will extend its hours until 8 p.m. every Tuesday and offer a variety of programming, including music, cooking demonstrations, educational experiences and gardening tips.

Response to Oxfam America

We value our Team Members and treat them with respect. If they need a restroom break, we have extra people who can fill in for them. We do not tolerate the refusal of requests to use the restroom.

We’re concerned about these anonymous claims and while we currently have no evidence they’re true, are checking to make sure our policies on restroom breaks are being followed and our Team Members’ needs are being met.

Tyson Foods Donates $100,000 to Southwest Kansas YMCA

The Garden City Family YMCA hosted an event today to announce a $100,000 donation from Tyson Foods, Inc. The donation will go toward the construction of a 27,730-square-foot inflatable sports dome with indoor athletic facilities, including basketball courts, a gymnastics area and walking track.

Tyson Foods and No Kid Hungry Partner for Innovative Hunger Solutions

Tyson Foods, Inc. announced today that it will serve as a National Innovation Partner of No Kid Hungry, a national campaign of the nonprofit organization Share Our Strength. The two-year partnership will focus on developing and improving the national afterschool meals program, with an emphasis on researching new models and increasing the program’s participation.

A longtime partner of Share Our Strength, Tyson Foods’ new commitment will increase its work with the No Kid Hungry campaign’s Innovation Team, a group focused on ending child hunger in America by providing innovative solutions for vulnerable children to access healthy food.

Tyson Foods Breaks Ground at Site of Future Incubation Center

John Tyson, chairman of Tyson Foods, Inc. (NYSE: TSN), along with Springdale Mayor Doug Sprouse and company board members and executives broke ground today on the future site of a new incubation center. The completed project will deliver hatching operations for the company’s northwest Arkansas broiler chicken business.  

“We have a rich heritage in Springdale and we’re proud to continue our tradition of investment here with the new incubation center,” Tyson said.  “Since we’re a company that’s always looking for ways to be better, world-class innovation will be a key part of this building.”

Tyson Foods Appoints Felicia Collins as VP, Corporate Communications

Tyson Foods, Inc. has named Felicia Collins vice president, corporate communications, the company announced today. In this new role, Collins will lead the company’s public relations, social media and internal communications teams. She will report to Sara Lilygren, executive vice president of corporate affairs.

Tyson Foods Proposes to Build Additional Plant in Arkansas

SPRINGDALE, Ark., April 14, 2016 – Officials for Tyson Foods, Inc. (NYSE:TSN) yesterday proposed building a new processing facility near its existing poultry plant in Green Forest, Arkansas. A group of Tyson Foods employees presented the new plant concept, valued at approximately $136 million, to the Finance Committee of the Carroll County Quorum Court Wednesday. The project would create about 85 jobs once it is fully operational.
